General Help

Catalog Asset Information:

This section of the page allows you to up date your description of the asset. This information is see by friends and family in your network if you have set the appropriate "Max Distance" and "Statue" (refer to My Assets detailed help)

If you wish to make a change, enter the changes here and press the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

Where possible try to use simple desciptive terms for your items, especially those that are not so easily labelled. Check what the description looks like on your My Assets page so see if it is descriptive enough for friends to understand.

Where possible enter the barcode number or if a book please enter the ISBN so that where possible we can display an image of the item you have.

Private Asset Information:

Private asset information is not seen by your friends within your network. This information remains private and confidential.

Use this section to retain useful information regarding purchase price, invoice numbers, serial numbers, software registration keys and warranty information.

These can be changed here and saved using the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

It is worth noting that CYNF is available from any web-based browser 24 / 7 from anywhere in the world which makes it so useful. So if you need that serial number at the parts store, you can retrieve it online right there instead of having to return home empty-handed.

This coupled with an additional location such as "My Bag" (extra locations ia a Gold Feature) makes CYNF the ideal travelling companion to store the serial numbers and purchase details of all the items you travel with such as your iPod or CD player. You might even consider storing basic passport and ticket information.

Network Asset Information:

Network asset information is information that is available to your network of friends.

The Active Link (URL) stores a hyperlink which is useful to hyperlink to a blog with a picture of the item available for loan, online documents or a copy of the user manual online. The hyperlink is entered into the Website Link field and when saved becomes an active link that others (including yourself) can click on.

The notes field is available for the storing of additional information regarding either the asset itself or conditions upon which you will lend this item. Eg. only available on Mon - Fri .

Register Loan :

Registering of loans, as compared to the usual request and confirmation process, is only available to Gold Members. Firstly select the period of the loan or reservation from the calendar (as you would if you were requesting a loan) and then select from one of the following:

"Reserve for Self": users asked us to add a function so that you can reserve items for your use during specified times, this is particularly useful for holiday homes, boats, JetSkis and camping gear.

Register a Loan to a CYNF user: to streamline the loans process if you have already lent an item to a friend who uses CYNF and is part of your network you can immediately register that loan rather than wait for your friend to request it and you confirm it.

The drop down box will only list the friends in your network that are users of CYNF. If the person you want to register a loan to is not in the list but is a CYNF member consider sending them an invite to your network.

Register a Loan to Non-CYNF user: if you like the functionality of CYNF but hve friends and relatives that do not use CYNF you can still keep track of a loan using CYNF.

You can enter their e-mail address if you wish and the system will send a reminder on your behalf or you can just enter their name. On the loans page it will show either.

If you enter their e-mail address you can check the box underneath and send them an invite to CYNF. This is another way to get friends to join CYNF

You can record pickup time, location and notes related to the loan in the text boxes provided as you would on the loan request page.

FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions are available from the top menu under the CYNF Logo.

Navigation:

Navigation is easy in CYNF HQ by using a combination of the top tabs and the left side tabs to navigate through CYNF HQ.

Top Tabs: selects the asset category or group
Left Side Tabs: selects the function or information

eg. Select "Games" and "Loans" to see all applicable loans relating to Games.

Add Assets :

You can add assets at anytime.

Remember the more assets you add the more your friends can see and the more likely they are to add assets themselves.

To add additional assets click on the "Add Assets" menu item on the top of the page just under the CYNF Logo.

Invite Friends :

You can invite friends at anytime.

Remember the more friends that you add the larger your friends network becomes (especially as they add friends) and therefore the more assets that are available to borrow.

To invite friends click on the "Invite Friends" menu item on the top of the page just under the CYNF Logo and complete the e-mail form.
